Pride Goes Before A Fall
It's the deadliest sin of all
Subtle serpent, she listened to your call
Do we think Potter, this clay knows best?
Broken sheep's legs it takes, Shepherd; You find us to reconstruct, to save
Until we are children of God, we know not how to obey
As long as I breathe, You knock, or did I harden my heart beyond repair?
Did I put myself high above and placed in my own king's chair?
Do we stop to pray or do we even know how or care?
In heaven every knee will bow and explain dear soul, why not do it now?
Weighing others sins against ours, instead of our eyes on You
Lord, call us to Your Word, humble us and Holy Spirit, a sin against You is that one which You shalt not
allow
based on Genesis 3:1-7, Romans 9:10-21, Luke 15:3-7, Revelation 3:20-21, Philippians 2:10, Matthew 12:32
Peter Sword
Lord, that you see the finished work of art in all of us
That you bring many of Your sons to Glory
Help me understand the rock of Peter within me
That You are the author and finisher of our story
So quick to react we are in action and in speech
A front runner Peter was he, beyond even the most beloved, John
His feet on top of water, blessed Jesus within reach
Water was more than his livelihood, isn't it that which we all fear?
Death, sickness, failure----all of these idols, which we happen to hold dear
Every day I walk with You, I am reminded of the sword, to be put back in its sheath, away.
For dear Peter had no idea, that in his future, he would hold the Kingdom of Heaven's Keys one day..........
based on John 18:10-11 and Hebrews 2:10
